Attempted Murder Re-hearing Continues

Bartolo Ford of Lisbon testified last week that his former lawyer, Daniel Lilley, refused to let him testify in court or to take a plea deal that may have allowed Ford to serve only 3 years in the Androscoggin County Jail. Ford was sentenced to 9 years in prison for ramming a police cruiser with a dump truck during a high-speed chase in 2010.

Missing Auburn Teen Contacts Family, Considered Safe

16-year-old Lex Lamothe was believed to be heading south to meet an older man when she disappeared Thursday. News of her disappearance spread across social media, which her father credits for catching her attention. Police have not said exactly where Lamothe was going or why.

New Civil Air Patrol Marker Unveiled at Lewiston Park

Veterans Memorial Park in Lewiston is now home to a 29th commemorative granite stone, this one honoring members of the Civil Air Patrol. The marker was unveiled Saturday at a Memorial Day celebration event, which included a wreath laying, a parade, and a Civil Air Patrol flyover.

Crews Continue Search for Missing South Berwick Boater

38-year-old Jennifer Bousquet and two other people were canoeing on the Saco River near Fryeburg Saturday afternoon when the craft capsized in turbulent waters. Those two made it to shore. Two Fryeburg police officers were injured during the search when their boat struck an underwater obstacle. Both are at CMMC.

Suspect Sought in Bethel Bank Robbery

The Oxford County Sheriff's Office says a suspect entered Northeast Bank on Main St. in Bethel around 11 a.m. Saturday and handed a note to a teller, demanding cash. The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. No injuries were reported.

Biddeford Woman Crashes into Fire Station

The York County Sheriff's Office says 25-year-old Kastar Ylonen was driving drunk when she crashed into the Arundel fire station Thursday night. The crash caused an estimated $50,000 worth of damage to the building. Ylonen had to be cut from her SUV before being transported to the hospital for evaluation. No other injuries were reported.

Attempted Murder Charges Abandoned Against Saco Man

25-year-old Aaron Bouchard was in court Friday, where his attorney argued that he needs to be hospitalized for mental health issues and suicidal tendencies. Instead, the judge ordered Bouchard held on $50,000 cash bail. Bouchard is charged with shooting at police who responded to a domestic call in Gorham last week.
