Thirteen children were seen over a two-day period last week at the St. Mary's Regional Medical Center's behavioral emergency department. It marks a sharp increase in visits in the wake of a Lewiston Middle School student's suicide last Tuesday.

A new memorial in Lewiston honors the life of Jayden Cho-Sargent, a teenager who died after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Main St. back in November. Last week, Jayden's Place was unveiled inside Sunnyside Park. The project was paid for through a GoFundMe page and both city and business donations.

Crowds braved the threats of rain and wind yesterday in Gorham, Saco, Topsham, and numerous other communities to celebrate Memorial Day. Former President George H.W. Bush and his wife Barbara were on-hand to greet parade-goers in Kennebunkport.

Police Shoot, Kill Arundel Man

37-year-old Chad Dionne confronted police while brandishing a firearm early Monday morning. Two officers fired their service weapons, killing Dionne. Investigations by both the sheriff's office and the State Attorney General's Office are ongoing.

Waterville Teen Still Missing

Alexis West was last seen near Summer St. Friday afternoon and is believed to be trying to get to Portland. She is described as a white female, 5-foot-3, 130 pounds, with brown hair, brown eyes, and braces. She was last wearing a red sweatshirt, a dark-red long-sleeved shirt, black jeans, and black sneakers.
