Auburn Man Sentenced for Attacking Fiancee

45-year-old Eric Griffey will spend 4 years behind bars and 4 years on probation for the July attack on Kellie Cardona. In sentencing Griffey, Judge MaryGay Kennedy said he must serve a concurrent four-year sentence on the domestic violence criminal threatening charge and 364 days for domestic violence assault.

Sentencing Pending in Lewiston Credit Union Robbery

The suspect in a Lewiston credit union robbery pleads guilty in federal court. 33-year-old Brent Roaix of Lewiston was arrested Jan. 25, shortly after taking an unspecified amount of money from the Rainbow Federal Credit Union on Main St. Roaix made his plea Wednesday. He could face up to 20 years in prison.

Attempted Murder Trial Staying in Androscoggin Co.

Jonathan Order faces 13 charges, including attempted murder, for allegedly stabbing a Lewiston police officer this past September. Cpl. Michael Dumond suffered five stab wounds during the altercation while answering a domestic violence call. The trial is expected to start Sept. 18.

Former Oakland Woman Convicted of Assaulting 3-Year-Old Boy

28-year-old Sarah Conway says she engaged in the sexual assault involuntarily, blaming her boyfriend for forcing her into it. The jury needed less than 30 minutes to find Conway guilty after another jury failed to reach a verdict this past January. Conway's former boyfriend, 38-year-old Stephen Smith, is serving 18-30 years in prison.

Duct Tape Detains Knife-Wielding Man

26-year-old Brandon York of Minot faces charges of criminal threatening and assault after allegedly running through a Somerset County campground slashing tires and damaging equipment. Other campers joined forces to subdue York during his rampage and secured him with duct tape until police arrived.

Portland Police Search for Shooter, Victim Critical
-
Police in Portland say a 39-year-old victim suffered life-threatening injuries following the altercation at a Preble St. parking garage Tuesday night. At latest check, he is in critical but stable condition following surgery at Maine Medical Center. Police say the shooting does not appear to be random and that there is no immediate danger to the public.

TV Stations Will Turn Over Unaired Interview Footage

An attorney representing both Maine Public and WGME-TV said Wednesday that the stations will hand over outtake footage of former prosecutor Pamela Ames. The move will comply with a court order in a rehearing for Anthony Sanborn, Jr. The footage will be turned over today.
