2 Found Unresponsive in Auburn Apartment

Auburn police are looking into what is being described as a possible double overdose situation from Thursday night. Emergency responders descended on a Mills St. apartment for a call about two unresponsive people inside. One person was found dead while the other was revived on the way to the hospital.

Police Search for Man Wanted in Child Assault

Arrest warrants are out for 43-year-old Urban Blaisdell of Sabattus in connection with an assault on a child last week. Police say Blaisdell is charged with domestic assault, child endangerment, and tampering with a witness, among others.

Rebuilt Affordable Housing Complex Opens

The Pierce Place complex in Lewiston took a year to build after fire partially destroyed its predecessor four years ago, displacing hundreds of people. The three new buildings unveiled Wednesday contain 29 new units of affordable housing along with 33 renovated units.

911 Dispatch Center Struck by Lightning

Oxford County emergency communications were deemed operational Thursday after a Wednesday night lightning strike. The Maine State Police dispatch center in Gray took over Oxford County's calls during the outage. Officials say no 911 calls were lost or unanswered.

12-Year Sentence for Man's Overdose Death

45-year-old Alfred McIntosh, Jr., of Limington received 12 years behind bars and 3 years' probation on Thursday. McIntosh broke into a family member's home in June 2012 and stole methadone. He gave some of the drugs to Drew Connors, who died a week later of methadone toxicity.

Campers Escalated Chaos During Rampage

The owners of a Somerset County campground say a knife-wielding rampage was made worse by other campers getting involved. The campers subdued 26-year-old Brandon York Sunday night and restrained him with duct tape until police arrived. His mother says he suffers from a genetic disorder and learning disabilities.

Poland Spring Still Looking for New Plant Home

Fryeburg, Rumford, and Bangor remain in the running to land Poland Spring's fourth bottling plant. Company officials said Thursday they are still researching options for the best water availability. A decision on the final location is expected by the end of the year.
